DeskBuddy Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
At DeskBuddy, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. DeskBuddy is a product of Blueberry Consultants Ltd, a company registered in England. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you visit our website, make a purchase from our store, or use a DeskBuddy device and its connected services.
The DeskBuddy device and your calendar data
A DeskBuddy displays calendars from accounts you choose to link (currently Microsoft 365/Outlook and Google Calendar). It is designed to keep your data on your device:
- Read-only access. The device requests read-only access to your calendar list and events. It cannot create, change or delete anything in your calendar.
- Credentials stay on the device. The sign-in tokens that authorise access are stored only in the device's own memory. Our servers do not hold your calendar credentials.
- Calendar content is not sent to us. Your device fetches calendar data directly from Microsoft or Google over an encrypted connection and shows it on screen. Event details are held in the device's memory only and are not transmitted to, stored on, or readable by Blueberry's systems.
- Unlinking. You can remove an account from the device's settings at any time (a factory reset removes all of them), and you can also revoke DeskBuddy's access from your Google account or Microsoft account settings, which takes effect at the next refresh.
Account pairing
Linking a Google account uses our pairing service at pair.thedeskbuddy.com. During pairing, the service briefly holds a pairing session consisting of a random code and a one-time sign-in authorisation code issued by Google. It never sees your password, your tokens, or your calendar data. Sessions are deleted as soon as your device collects the result, or automatically after 15 minutes, whichever comes first. Linking a Microsoft account happens directly between the device and Microsoft and does not use our servers at all.
Firmware updates
When you ask the device to check for updates, it downloads a version manifest and, if you accept, a firmware file from our hosting provider. Like any web request, these fetches expose the device's IP address to standard, short-lived service logs; no account or calendar information is included.
Google user data
DeskBuddy's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, DeskBuddy requests Google's read-only scopes for your calendar list and calendar events, and the data received is used only to show your calendars and meeting alerts on your DeskBuddy's screen. We do not:
- transfer Google user data to third parties;
- use it for advertising;
- store it on our servers;
- allow humans to read it; or
- use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
